Rupesh Pannalall
The first christian music in India that rocked my world in terms of the quality of recording etc. was Rupesh Pannalall's 'Musafir'. I do not have the music on the website yet, but believe me it blew my mind in terms of the quality of recording as well as the musicmanship. He had used studio musicians and had recorded it in Bangalore, this was some 20 years ago. At that time cassettes were being produced in Transworld Radio studios etc. but the recording quality wasn't that good. They were recording great songs but not at a great professional quality. There used to be such a disparity between the music from T-series and the christian cassettes.
So in my mind Rupesh is a pioneer. These days recording has risen to an entirely new level and the accessibility of recording devices, due to computers, has changed the entire landscape of the muic industry. I really love 'Shahar Mein Apna Kaun Hai Yaron ...' I think he co-wrote that with Pastor Subhash Gill.
