New to Canada??

It will be ten years in April 2007 that I stepped off the plane in 1997. I still remember the blast of cold air that hit my face as I stepped out of the warmth of the airport in Toronto. I also remember the excitement that was in my heart as I was in the plane and then during those early days in a new country. For me, Immigrating was a mixed bag of emotions. I was very very excited and at the same time aware that all my qualifications would need work on inorder to meet the Canadian standards. I also saw it as an opportunity to start life on a 'clean slate' so as to speak.

In this section you will find some information that you may find useful if you have or are planning to immigrate to Canada. I can perhaps help point you to some helpful sites etc. In addition there are some guidelines for an immigrant that I will put here for your reference - these will be based purely my own personal experiences. I hope these are helpful to you in your quest to settle down in a new country or to take a decision to immigrate.

I want to introduce to you Nayajeevan.org - just freshly launched. You can click on the image and it will take you to it. This is a great website and a wonderful resource for an immigrant to North America. A lot of things that are on here were somethings that I was toying with as well and now that they are available I am happy to partner with them rather than run a parallel show. This website deals with immigration issues in general with stories of immigrants and their struggles settling down. Check it out!!
